The ‘Running Scotland’ route will involve 11 stages and a total distance of 715km.

Described as ‘expert level’ requiring “very good fitness, alpine experience and sure footedness” (gulp!) we will begin this mega-run at John O’Groats in Caithness.

From there we’ll head across to Sutherland and down into Ross County

Taking in the Muir or Ord and Drumnadochit - the home of the Loch Ness Monster -we will hug the edge of Loch Ness until we reach Fort Augustus. Moving forward to Fort William and the imposing summit of Ben Nevis, we’ll join the stunning West Highland Way. This world class trail will take us all the way to Glasgow. From there we will head into South Lanarkshire and onto Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway. The last leg of the run will take us from Moffat to the finish line at Gretna Green where we hope to find cakes and cushions.

We would love to encourage you to join us for part of the route - be it a few miles along Loch Ness, a segment of the West Highland Way, or round a city block in Glasgow.

We will create a live feed on social media which will allow you to follow our progress and where possible join in.
